“All resistance organizations will be destroyed without mercy.” After 8 years in release limbo, Paramount is finally showing & promoting this World War II assassination film The Man with the Iron Heart. We initially featured the first trailer for this way back in 2017, when it debuted in Europe under the original title HHhH, which is the same title from the book it’s adapted from. In 1942, as Nazi power tightens its grip on Europe, two brave Czech resistance fighters are sent on a mission to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich, the ruthless architect behind the “Final Solution.” Starring Jason Clarke & Rosamund Pike, and based on true events, this gripping WWII drama reveals an extraordinary tale of courage, sacrifice, and defiance, as two men risk everything to strike at the heart of unimaginable evil. The ensemble cast also includes Jack O’Connell, Jack Reynor, Mia Wasikowska, Stephen Graham, Thomas M. Wright, and more. Not sure why it took so long for this to get release in the US – perhaps afraid of the assassination plot? Whatever the case, it’s now available on VOD everywhere if anyone wants to dive fully into this true story from history.
Here’s the new 2025 trailer (+ poster) for Cédric Jimenez’s The Man with the Iron Heart, on YouTube:
First released under the original title HHhH. 1942: The Third Reich is at its peak. The Czech resistance in London decides to plan the most ambitious military operation of WWII: Anthropoid. Two young recruits in their late twenties, Jozef Gabcik and Jan Kubis, are sent to Prague to assassinate the most ruthless Nazi leader – Reich-protector Reinhard Heydrich, Head of the SS, the Gestapo, and the architect of the “Final Solution”. The Man With The Iron Heart, also known as HHhH, is directed by French filmmaker Cédric Jimenez, director of the films The Connection and Aux yeux de tous previously, who went on to make The Stronghold and November after this. The screenplay is written by Cédric Jimenez, David Farr, and Audrey Diwan; adapted from the novel titled “HHhH” written by Laurent Binet. The film originally first opened in theaters in Europe back in 2017 starting in France. Paramount will finally release Jimenez’s The Man with the Iron Heart direct-to-VOD in the US this year. It’s available to watch now. Anyone still interested in this?
