Phoenix man arrested after stealing $12,000 of Ping, TaylorMade drivers

A 31-year-old man was arrested by Glendale, Arizona, police for a string of thefts involving Ping and TaylorMade drivers.

Connor Burgess of Phoenix is accused of stealing about $12,000 worth of gear at several locations in Glendale, according to court documents. He was arrested on Nov. 25 at a Phoenix motel.

One particular store surveillance video shows him leaving a retail store with seven drivers in his left hand.

Glendale PD says he faces multiple felony charges. Those include three counts of organized retail theft and tampering with physical evidence. He was also charged with possession of narcotic drugs at the motel where he was arrested.

Glendale police reports this it was a month-long investigation. After a string of thefts at PGA Tour Superstore and Dick's Sporting Goods, it was discovered golf equipment was being sold on OfferUp at prices much lower than it would normally be sold. The surveillance video matched profile images on the OfferUp account.
