A small hobby farming account recently shared a heartbreaking story about a little lamb born a week premature. Tragically, he lost both his mother and brother shortly after birth. Left all alone, the tiny lamb was rejected by the other ewes on the farm, leaving everyone devastated, fearing he wouldn’t survive on his own.
That is until his savior came in the form of a sweet Yellow Labrador dog named Digby, who accepted the little lamb and has been helping to care for him.
The beautiful video was uploaded to the TikTok account for @Harryemmel, and everyone is so touched that the Yellow Labrador dog named Digby stepped up to care for little Simon, the lamb, when no other creature would.
One person commented, “You’re telling me the cutest creature to ever exist was rejected? I’m using this as a therapist to tell my clients parental rejection has nothing to do with them.”

Someone else responded, “Me, as soon as it said the others didn’t want to play with the lamb: GET THAT BABY A DOG. So glad he has a doggie bestie.” Another person replied, “All animals are special but dogs have an extra special role in this life. They save not only human beings but little lambs too.” Adding to that was this comment, “Sad that the little one got such a rough start but I am sooo happy Digby is there.”
This Is Not the First Animal Digby Has Befriended
One person said that “Digby is the goodest boy ever.” The account holder said in a follow-up post that, “The boss of the farm. Works hard keeping all of the animals in check and protecting all of the babies. Everyone needs a Digby.”
The adorable clip shows Digby leading a flock of ducklings around the farm, patting some small turkeys on the head, running around with some beautiful horses, hanging out with some chickens, a dog, some goats and even a turtle! Digby is an equal opportunity animal lover!
If you’d like to see how precious Simon is doing, here’s another clip.
It could be said that some pups are just natural empaths and know instinctually when another animal needs them, but we think it just comes down to this: we really don’t deserve dogs.
