We have a huge week ahead of us in the season of Dual Destiny! Rookidee debuts in Steeled Resolve, Ralts returns for Community Day, and the first Legendary Dynamax Pokémon is released!
Highlights:
Steeled Resolve
Rookidee makes their Pokémon GO debut in the Steeled Resolve event! Magnetic Lures will attract specific Pokémon, plus use a Charged TM to forget Frustration on your Shadow Pokémon.
Ralts Community Day Classic
Pokémon GO’s January 2025 Community Day Classic features the return of Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon! Ralts Community Day Classic takes place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
Dual Destiny Season Special Research
A season long free special research will be available to claim from Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.
New parts of the Special Research will unlock over the course of the Season, so make sure to keep an eye on your Research tab!
Dual Destiny: Eggs-pedition Access
Starting December 3, 2024, Trainers will be able to purchase Eggs-pedition Access for the latest Season of Pokémon GO, Dual Destiny. This ticket will help trainers make the most out of Dual Destiny by granting an Incubator for the first PokéStop or Gym spin of the day.
GO Battle League Season 21
GO Battle League: Dual Destiny will commence on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).
The following will occur at the beginning of the Season:
- End-of-Season rewards will be available on the Battle screen.
- Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
- Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.
(*) 4× Stardust from win rewards during these leagues (does not include end-of-set rewards).
Spotlight Hour
Tuesday January 21st, 6 pm till 7 pm local time we have Paldean Wooper as the featured Pokémon for spotlight hour, along with 2x candy for catching Pokémon!
Raids and Max Battles
Raid Hours
Wednesday January 22nd 6pm till 7pm local time Attack Forme Deoxys and Defense Forme Deoxys will appear in five-star raids.
Five-Star Raids
From January 16 – January 24 Attack Forme Deoxys and Defense Forme Deoxys will appear in Five-Star Raids.
From January 24 – February 6 Dialga will appear in Five-Star Raids.
Mega Raids
From January 16 – January 24 Mega Gallade will appear in Mega Raids.
From January 24 – February 6 Mega Medicham will appear in Mega Raids.
Shadow Raids
One-star and three-star Shadow Raids will be available daily, while five-star Shadow Raids will take place on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise noted. Also, Shadow Registeel will swoop into five-star Shadow Raids during Dual Destiny! You may even encounter a Shiny Shadow Registeel—if you’re lucky!
Max Mondays
Monday January 20th 6pm till 7pm local time Dynamax Articuno will appear in Max Battles.

Season of Dual Destiny
The following bonuses are specific to Dual Destiny:
- One additional free Raid Pass per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs

Season of Dual Destiny Research Breakthrough
Complete Field Research to unlock Research Breakthrough encounters with one of the following Pokémon. These Pokémon will appear as Research Breakthrough Rewards from December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time. to March 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time:
Season of Dual Destiny Field Research Tasks
Field Research tasks that previously rotated on a monthly basis will now rotate Seasonally. Field Research tasks that award an encounter with Spinda will still rotate monthly. For a full list of the season field research tasks check out our list here.
