Will Trent keeps improving each season, and Season 3 has excelled at combining high-stakes drama and compelling character arcs.
The GBI and Det. Ormewood have been front and center in the action, but Angie Polaski was only seen in a few scenes.
It’s finally her time to shine. In Will Trent Season 3, Episode 3, titled “Find a New Pond,” Angie makes a horrifying discovery at Waldorf Estates and tries to earn her way back on the force.
While we hate to see Angie in danger, we’re excited to see more than a few scenes of her.
We’re also excited to experience the entire GBI team back together as they adjust to team dynamics.
Angie Discovers Something That Puts Her in Danger
Angie has a habit of finding herself in bad situations. There was something sketchy about the handyman, John, when he brought her flowers and wanted her to forget he had fallen off the ladder at work.
Who gives a woman flowers, takes them back, and throws them in the grass? That’s just odd!
Initially, I wrote him off as a nobody character, but now I suspect he’s the next serial killer. Why does poor Angie get stuck interacting with these losers?
Hopefully, Angie learned her lesson about keeping secrets. That detail may not seem important, but it might be.
Finding a dead body at Waldorf Estates will be frightening. She’s only a security officer and isn’t even a cop again yet. Knowing Angie, she’ll likely play “Nancy Drew” and try to solve this case to prove her worth.
I suspect John knows who Angie is. Her case had to be in the papers or the news. Even his comment insinuating that she didn’t belong there seemed suspicious.
He was wrong if he meant she was too good to be a security detail. She messed up, and seeing her remorse has been the best part of Angie’s arc so far.
While I hate seeing Angie in danger, I also look forward to this since Erika Christensen slays layered performances.
I’m excited to watch and learn what clues Angie finds that leads her to John. Obviously, she clues Michael in since he fills her in on John’s horrific crime history.
That makes me nervous since Angie tends to confront sexual perpetrators. That has always been her trigger. It’s symbolic that her last case dealt with sexual predators, and her first one back does as well.
She just promised not to let cases become personal, so she must walk a delicate balance.
She could become John’s next victim or solve this case and become a hero, earning herself a spot back on the force.
Hopefully, Michael or someone else from APD will arrive as backup. They seem like the only people who still have her back.
Could This Be the Case That Throws Angie and Will in the Same Room?
After Will arrested Angie at the end of Will Trent Season 2, Will and Angie avoided one another while grieving.
If Angie rejoins the force, they won’t be able to avoid each other forever. However, if Angie is in danger, could this be when they run into each other?
Even after everything, Will would never let anything happen to her. He’d go with Michael if he needed back.
However, after what Angie likely witnessed, I’m unsure if they would subject her to such an emotional and awkward conversation.
Ramon Rodriguez teased that Will and Angie eventually talk after a few episodes. “It isn’t easy because there’s so much history.”
“They’ve been through so much, and what happened and how they’ve dealt with it was gut-wrenching.”
It seems like Will couldn’t handle being near Angie any more than she could deal with him.
As much as I love these two, some space is needed. While they need closure, they both still need time to heal.
Will is Stumped by His First Case Back at the GBI
We couldn’t be happier to see Will back at the GBI. While we will miss seeing scruffy Will, his personality is characterized by wearing a three-piece suit and being clean-shaven.
Unfortunately, Will seems stumped by his first case back at the GBI. The spoilers tease that a fight at a family-owned business leads to several poisonings.
This pulls Will and Faith into a web of family secrets and corporate intrigue. With so many suspects, it’s challenging to discern the killer.
At the end of Will Trent Season 3 Episode 2, Will and Faith awkwardly reconciled.
While they always have each other’s backs, it may take time before the partners are as close as they were before.
Hopefully, not too long. We miss their banter as they questioned suspects or analyzed data.
From the weekly promo, it appears Det. Ormewood is still at the GBI, so we’re curious about where he works or who he’s partnered with.
