On Christmas Eve, Springfield Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call that resulted in the suspect being shot.

At 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, officers responded to the 2400 block of N. East Ave., according to an SPD news release, where the suspect was holding the victim against her will.

The victim was able to escape the home as officers were setting up a perimeter. However, the suspect exited the residence with a gun allegedly pointed at officers, according to the release.
