This Day in Gaming 🎂
In retro news, I’ve spent some craaazy money on a 25-shaped birthday cake for Crazy Taxi. This Dreamcast classic was the start of a better-than-fare open-world racing trilogy that was steadily ported across from the arcades. Ludicrously fast and brimming with an uncommon level of freedom in its A to B delivering antics, this version came with all of the epic soundtrack (see: Bad Religion and The Offspring) and added many a mini-game. I lost way too many hours attempting the insanely difficult ten-pin bowling/drifting ones.
Interestingly—and as if to prove that nothing changes ’cause it’s all the same—it seems Sega is in the process of rebooting this fine game. I guess it all just happens again, way down the line.
