Economic Survey 2024-25: PM Modi highlights India’s growth story in numbers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today shared key insights from the Economic Survey.

“India’s Growth Story in Numbers!,” Modi wrote in the thread, showing nine highlights.
The PM cited the growth in the non-fossile fuel power generation which has jumped from 236.63 thousand GWh to 420.81 thousand GWh from 2013-14 to 2022-23.
The economic survey, as highlighed by PM, also revealed that India’s share in global services share has doubled from 1.9 per cent in 2005 to 4.3 per cent in 2023.

Quoting the Survey, the prime minister highlighted how private spending has jumped to its highest level in 22 years – from 57.6 per cent in FY15 to 61.8 per cent in FY25.

Another highlight of the Survey, the PM said, is the 315% credit surge for small farmers from Rs 3.46 lakh crore in FY15 to Rs 14.39 lakh crore in 2023-24.

The agri credit also soared by 201% from Rs 8.45 lakh crore in 2014-15 to Rs 25.48 lakh crore in 2023-24.
In terms of four-lane highways, India saw 150% growth over a decade from 18,300 km in 2014 to 45,900 km in 2024, Modi said.

“Breaking New Ground: Women’s Patent Filings Multiply in India,” PM Modi wrote in the tweet showing how patent filings by woman applicants have jumped from just 15 in FY15 to 5183 in FY24.

From FY14 to FY24, power supply to rural areas has also soared to 21.9 hours from just 12.5 hours 10 years back.

India has also closed the energy gap between rural and urban areas to a mere 0.1% in the last 10 years, Modi added.
