“So this is the great wolf everyone’s talking about?” Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for an animated series called Wolf King, streaming this March on Netflix. This is adapted from a series of YA books titled Wereworld, which begins with Book 1 – Rise of the Wolf. Imagine a world ruled by Werelords – men and women who can shift at will into bears, lions, and serpents. When Drew suddenly discovers he’s not only a werewolf but the long-lost heir to the murdered Wolf King’s throne, he must use his wits and his newfound powers to survive in a land suddenly full of enemies. Drew’s the only one who can unite the kingdom in a massive uprising against its tyrant ruler, Leopold the Lion. A young commoner comes of age and learns he’s the last of a long line of Werewolves — and heir to the throne — in this epic new fantasy adventure series. Featuring the voices of Ceallach Spellman as Drew, Nina Barker Francis, Georgia Lock, Chris Lew Kum Hoi, Tom Rhys Harries, Colin Ryan, Louis Landau, and Peter Serafinowicz. The style in this is a bit clunky, but it still looks like an entertaining & exciting show about taking down a corrupt & evil king.

Here’s the official trailers (+ poster) for Netflix’s animated series Wolf King, from Netflix’s YouTube:

In a land once subjugated by werelords, 16-year-old Drew Ferran (voiced by Ceallach Spellman) realizes he is the last member in a long ancestral line of werewolves. He must confront & overthrow the tyrannical rule of the Lionlords and take back the throne as the statutory wolf king. Wolf King is an animated series adapted by writers Andrew Burrell and Celia Morgan. With episodes directed by VFX artist Tom Brass, an animation director on “Nova” and Captive State, plus title sequence designer, and creative director of VFX studio Jellyfish Pictures. Based on the “Wereworld” series of books created and written by Curtis Jobling. Made by Lime Pictures. Animation by Jellyfish Pictures & Assemblage Entertainment. Executive produced by Angelo Abela and Tim Compton; produced by Barry Quinn and Curtis Jobling. Netflix will debut the Wolf King series streaming on Netflix worldwide starting on March 20th, 2025 coming soon. Anyone down? 🐺
