First, he back checks to break up a Minnesota Duluth rush, the wins a puck in the corner, curls out of it and feeds Boisvert for his second goal of the weekend.
UND 2, Minnesota Duluth 0 — Cameron Berg 10 (Owen McLaughlin, Jake Livanavage) 2:24 (pp). UND tacks on another one just 37 seconds later, taking advantage of its second power-play chance of the night. McLaughlin has the puck in the left circle and feeds Berg in the right circle for a one-timer.
UND 3, Minnesota Duluth 0 — Jake Schmaltz 5 (Jake Livanavage, Owen McLaughlin) 10:11 (pp). UND takes advantage of a five-minute major penalty on Minnesota Duluth’s Jack Smith. McLaughlin sets up Livanavage for a one-timer. Schmaltz tips it for his fifth goal of the season.
UND 4, Minnesota Duluth 0 — Sacha Boisvert 12 (Abram Wiebe, Carter Wilkie) 11:34 (pp). UND scores a second time on the major when Wiebe leaves a pass for Boisvert in the right circle. The rookie hammers a one-timer past Klayton Knapp for his second goal of the period.
UND 5, Minnesota Duluth 0 — Cameron Berg 11 (Jake Livanavage, Owen McLaughlin) 12:24 (pp). The onslaught keeps coming. Livanavage sets up Berg for a one-timer in the right circle and he hammers it past Knapp. Minnesota Duluth pulls Knapp after the goal for Adam Gajan. It’s the third time in four games this season UND has chased Minnesota Duluth’s starting goaltender.
UND 6, Minnesota Duluth 0 — Owen McLaughlin 4 3:06. Minnesota Duluth defenseman Aaron Pionk fans on a puck at the point, McLaughlin takes it the other way on a breakaway and snaps it glove side on Gajan. The goalie gets a big piece of it, but not enough as it pops up, trickles down his back and in. It’s a five-point night for McLaughlin. UND’s last five-point game was Jackson Blake against Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 23 in Ralph Engelstad Arena.
