Mike Myers Plays Elon Musk in Zelenskyy Sketch

The star-filled “SNL” 50th special may be over and done with, but one comedy veteran stuck around 30 Rock for this week’s new episode of “Saturday Night Live”: Mike Myers. The comedian crashed Saturday’s cold open as Elon Musk, appearing in a sketch that reimagined Donald Trump and JD Vance’s now-infamous Oval Office meeting with Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I’d like to welcome President Zelenskyy to this incredible trap,” James Austin Johnson’s Trump said at the top of the sketch before making a dig at Zelenskyy’s casual attire. “I’d like to thank President Zelenskyy for dressing like casual Star Trek. We love Star Trek because there’s no DEI. The white guy was the leader and he bossed around Spock who was, I believe, Guatemalan.”

Mikey Day filled the role of Zelenskyy but he didn’t have much to say as the sketch played on the shouting match that ensued in the real-life meeting, with Bowen Yang’s JD Vance pouncing on Zelenskyy right as he opened his mouth.

“I have to jump in here because that’s how we planned this,” Vance said. “You didn’t say thank you. You didn’t say anything about us being handsome.”

He interjected as soon as Day’s Zelenskyy tried to reply: “You have been talking this entire time. I’m sorry, does the sign outside say Ukraine House? No, it says America House.”

Johnson’s Trump played on the “I have the cards” line from the actual Oval Office meeting: “You say you wanna end this war, but frankly you don’t have the cards. I have the cards. I have Skip. I have Draw Four. I have Get Out of Jail Free, the Supreme Court gave me that one.”

Myers’s Musk crashed the proceedings to applause from the audience, with an impression that felt fairly spot-on for the South African native as Myers pulled a bit from Austin Powers for the tech mogul’s mannerisms.

“Uh Donald, what are you doing in my office? You know I’m the president now. I’m kidding! I’m kidding. Maybe not!” he said before jumping up and down and yelling, “Legalize comedy! Legalize comedy!”

Myers’ Musk joked about the scores of firings happening through his DOGE department: “They’re saying I’m firing people with no cause. But I do have cause. It’s cause I feel like it.”
