‘Miss Me?’ Fun First Teaser for ‘M3GAN 2.0’ Blumhouse Horror Sequel

“This b!*ch is back. Universal & Blumhouse have unveiled an official trailer for M3GAN 2.0, the exciting new horror sequel follow-up to the 2023 January horror hit M3gan. This is just a first look teaser – more of an announcement of the release date than a footage reveal. The murderous doll who captivated pop culture in 2023 is back. And this time she’s not alone. The original creative team behind that phenomenon—led by horror titans James Wan for Atomic Monster, Jason Blum for Blumhouse, and director Gerard Johnstone—reboot an all-new wild chapter in A.I. mayhem with M3GAN 2.0. Ready for a Terminator 2-esque sequel? Two years after M3GAN’s rampage, her creator Gemma (now a leading artificial intelligence expert) resorts to resurrecting her infamous creation in order to take down Amelia, the military-grade weapon built by a defense contractor who stole M3GAN’s underlying tech. Allison Williams returns with Violet McGraw, Ivanna Sakhno, Amie Donald & Jenna Davis (as M3gan), Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, & Jemaine Clement. Two years after M3GAN first went rogue and embarked on a murderous rampage, and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen & misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, & more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.
M3GAN 2.0 is directed by American genre filmmaker Gerard Johnstone, director of the first M3GAN film and Housebound previously, plus episodes of the TV series “Terry Teo” and “The New Legends of Monkey”. The screenplay is again written by Akela Cooper, who wrote the first screenplay (also Malignant, The Nun II). Produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and Allison Williams; made by Blumhouse. Universal will debut Johnstone’s M3GAN 2.0 in theaters nationwide starting June 27th, 2025 this summer. Ready for more?
