Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered his “heartfelt” congratulations to Aleksandr Lukashenko on his official victory in Belarus’s presidential election.
In his message, Putin stated that Lukashenko’s “landslide win” demonstrates his “strong political authority” and the “unquestionable support of the population” for his policies.
“Recently, we’ve achieved significant progress in strengthening the friendly ties between Moscow and Minsk. Naturally, we’ll continue our close cooperation to further develop the multifaceted Russian-Belarusian partnership, enhance the effectiveness of the Union State’s institutions, and advance mutually beneficial integration processes in the Eurasian region,” Putin said.
He also wished Lukashenko success, good health, and prosperity, and calling him an “always welcome and dear” guest in Russia.
